Spectacular design that reflects owners personality

The appeal of a home by the waterfront is universal. But add to that the spectacular design of this unique and dramatic house, and you have the ultimate combination. This welcoming 5 bedroom home is a wonderful reflection of the personalities of the owners, incorporating both their sense of style and love of life.

The dramatic wooden double entrance doors open into views over the water feature. The generous hallway then leads to the centrally positioned open plan designer kitchen and butler’s pantry. Sharing the same focal space is the spacious dining room with exposed wooden beams and imposing iron chandeliers.

All rooms including the two sunny living rooms which flank the dining area, have access to the landscaped gardens and tiled balconies. The rooftop BBQ area, covered “man-cave” bar with open fire and the landscaped fire-pit in the garden make the most of the sun and views.

The majestic plastered staircase leads to the master bedroom, walk-in wardrobe, bathroom and the separate office/bedroom. The downstairs guest wing has three double bedrooms and two beautifully appointed bathrooms. The media room and utility area are cleverly tucked away.

This welcoming, fun and fabulous home used design details, lighting and plastering throughout to create special alcoves and features and is the perfect canvas for the owner’s extensive art collection. The reclaimed timber beams and doors, parapets and large bells add to the authenticity and pure joy of this home.

“6 years ago now I employed Foothold Developments to build my home on the Waimea Inlet in rural Richmond. I found the total Foothold team very professional and the standard of workmanship outstanding. Our home was quite an undertaking with what was then a relatively new product in Hebel Block. The project took 16 months and not once did I have to question any aspect of the job. I was onsite 95% of the time and often made small changes in the design of the building. These changes would be discussed with the builders and carried out without any issues.

I have recently completed a renovation in Arrowtown and have had my fair share of grief in the whole process. In hindsight I would have been better off employing Foothold again but
thought the distance would have perhaps been an issue. But I’m sure the end result would have been far superior.

Should I be building again I will certainly be employing Foothold and have no problem whatsoever in recommending them to anyone else”.
